I was a big fan of Blake's 7, and these were my first foray into the world of autograph collecting. Jacqueline Pearce was a favourite of mine and I remember writing to her what seemed to be every month! I also sent her a cassette tape (yes, it was that long ago!) and asked her to record a message for me. She was brilliant and recorded a message from her hospital bed shortly after having an operation, with Michael Keating adding a few words after he had gone to visit her.
It must have been the in thing at the time, but mostly the stars sent back pictures, with the autograph on the reverse. They were small pictures and I later laminated them in groups.
This last one of Paul Darrow and Colin Baker I received as a present from a friend.
The first few autographs I got at the Babcon convention in London, where they signed their respective pages in the con programme. Others like Michael O'Hare and Ed Wasser I met in person in London and the others were obtained via post or from friends.
Jerry 'The King' Lawler. When my Dad was alive , we both were really into pro wrestling, watching all the PPVs on sat TV . 'The King' was one of our favourite heels.
These two pictures were thanks to a friend who went to a Fanderson convention celebrating all things gerry Anderson.
I loved the show Home Improvement, and wrote to the 3 main stars. I didn't hear back from Tim Allen or Patricia Richardson but received this from Richard Karn.
I received this from Sean Connery back in the days before the internet and ebay autograph sellers, Sean no longer signs citing those who would sell his autograph and he wouldn't see a penny from it. Such a shame.
